So far we are ironing out the story and I happened to come up with this...
Concept Story Titan, Saturns' largest moon hosts humanity's newest endeavor into space exploration in search of new forms of power amongst the energy crisis on Earth. While Mars proved energy was capable of being harnassed the facilities were quarantined and abandoned due to unforeseen circumstances. The exploration ventured deeper into the solar system, landing on Titan and siphoning energy and materials from Saturns rings. Due to the demise of the Mars facilities, these new facilities were under lock and key and miles of bureaucratic doors. Everything is tight, security is impeccable, but not to Zeta Zeta is a parasitic space bacteria that infects the host and controls their body. Not much is understood about Zeta because every supposed case has been mysteriously destroyed, alongside the host. Only rumors spread through the Titan facilites of its origin and symptoms. Titan Base has lost contact with Earth for approximately 7 months. All attempted communications have been snuffed and every individual sent has not made it back. You volunteered to be sent to the facility because besides your pet dog Duke you have nothing left to lose. You are put into a coma as the trip takes a considerable amount of time. You are sent off with your trusty sidearm to figure out what happened to Titan Base. Your brief military training has prepared you for anything... or has it?
I am also working on the First Person Camera, it's steady at the moment.
Dawson Bailey: So far I have been working on the first enemy of our game, which is a simple zombie that stumbles towards you at a slow speed if you walk into its aggro radius. To make the zombie I used a model with animations that I found being offered for free on reddit.com/r/GameDev. I used all of this to set up the zombie's movement animation and placed it on a NavMesh. For the aggression radius I am using various trigger colliders and checking for trigger entry in a script. I also set the zombie up to have a ragdoll which is used upon its death, as there was no death animation included and because I like the idea of using a ragdoll better anyways because it feels better to me. Overall my work on this enemy has been going well and I'm excited to keep making it better.
Kyle Lamoureux: Environmental development was mainly focused on getting overall level layout set up with an emphasis on varied areas for testing. As the level develops, we plan on incorporating multiple paths to navigate deeper into the level ending up at the same location. The script for the moving platform in area 2 is functioning as intended, and other environmental assets such as elevators or and interactable object will be added as the game is refined.
